Safari Booking Procedure
You can book your Kanha safari by checking date availability on our website calendar and confirming a slot that suits you. If you prefer not to book online, you may call us on +91-7558484437 or WhatsApp us and we will arrange the permit for you. Advance reservation is strongly advised, especially if your trip dates are fixed.
Safari hours change between winter and summer, and the forest department may adjust them when required. Also note that there is no evening safari on Wednesdays, and the park stays shut on Holi each year.
Entry is controlled zone wise. Only a limited count of jeeps is allowed per shift so that the forest stays peaceful and wildlife is not disturbed. Booking early helps secure the zone you want.

Key Rules for Kanha Jeep Safari
Safari timing: You can join one safari in a day. Choose either the morning or the evening slot based on availability. Slots fill fast, so early booking helps.
Booking details: Once the permit is issued, the driver and guide details stay the same. These cannot be changed later. If the booking fails because of limited seats or a technical issue, the full amount will be returned to your account. You will be informed before the refund is processed.
Pickup service: Pickup is possible only if your stay is close to the entry gate. If it is far, extra charges apply. You can also reach the gate on your own vehicle without any issue.
Guide requirement: Only registered guides approved by the park are allowed. Replacing the assigned guide or using someone from outside is not permitted.
Single permit rule: If you hold a single permit, you must pay the vehicle and guide fee at the entry point. These charges are shared among all travellers and are paid at the gate before entering.
Important note: The safari voucher issued after booking is not refundable, not cancellable and not transferable.
Other Kanha Booking Options
Along with regular permits, visitors can choose from two faster booking options. These are useful if you are travelling alone or planning at short notice.
Single Seat Safari Permit Booking
Good for solo travellers or when the full jeep permit is already booked. You can reserve one seat in a shared jeep instead of booking the entire vehicle.
Bookings open one day before the safari date at 2 PM IST.
Premium Tatkal Permit Booking
If you missed advance booking or confirmed your plan late, this option gives you another chance. The Premium Tatkal quota opens 7 days before the safari date at 11 AM IST and offers a quick way to secure entry.
Ideal for last-minute travel or those who could not book 90 days earlier.
Best time and season to visit Kanha
November to January (Peak Season)
Cool mornings and pleasant days make these months very comfortable for safari. The forest looks fresh after rains and sightings are steady, which is why this period gets booked faster than others.
February to April (High Season)
The temperature starts rising, but animal activity around water bodies increases too. Many travellers prefer this period because the chances of spotting big cats often go up.
May to June (Summer)
This is the hottest time of the year, but also one of the most rewarding for sightings. Dry grass and low water levels improve tracking. Carry light clothing, a cap and enough water for a smooth drive.
July to September (Monsoon)
Core zones remain closed for tourists due to rain and breeding season. The forest regenerates during this time. Buffer zone safaris may run occasionally depending on weather and forest rules.
