Pench Tiger Reserve

Pench National Park is a scenic and verdant area nestled in the lower southern section of the Satpura Hills, displaying nature’s splendour at its finest. It is named after the Pench River, which flows from north to south through the park.

Pench National Park is split between the states of Madhya Pradesh as well as Maharashtra. It includes parts of 741.22 square kilometres and is spread across the districts of Chhindwara and Seoni. It is 257.26 square kilometres in size with a buffer area of 483.96 square kilometres. The forest belt of the park also extends to Balaghat in the east and Nagpur in the south.

Tadoba Tiger Reserve

Maharashtra’s oldest and largest national park covers an area of 1727 square kilometres. The Queen Maya, a powerful Tadoba tigress, rules over this national park.

The Tadoba Tiger Reserve is home to 62 mammal species, 800 bird species, 30 reptile species, and 111 butterfly species. It is adorned with over 740 different types of flora.

The tiger reserve has four safari zones: Moharli, Kolara, ‘Pangadi & Zari,’ and Navegaon. Tadoba Tiger Reserve provides safaris in open Jeeps, canters, and minibuses. The most popular safari here is the open Jeep safari.
